I'm not going to make a final final decision until I find out for sure what animated episodes are included, but right now I don't think I'm getting this thing. There just doesn't seem to be enough new stuff to justify shelling out for two movies I already have. If they're a couple of crap-ass Slimer! cartoons, I definitely don't get it. Throw in a couple of good JMS RGB ones and we'll see.

I probably will, since I don't have the second movie, and the scrapbook sounds cool. I just wish we could find out which episodes will be on it. Then I'll make my final, final decision. My husband says he knows me, I'll run out and get it anyway...
Watching GB1 right now, in fact...

I pretty much made the decision not to get it when I found out they didn't give GB2 any special features. Is one little commentary track and some deleted scenes (most of which really should have been in the movie) really too much to ask?

Especially the deleted scenes--I mean, they already exist. It's not like you'd have to sit somebody down to record them the way you would a commentary track.

The DVD cover isn’t the most attractive thing I’ve seen, either. Not that I buy DVDs purely on the value of what the cover looks like, but it doesn’t exactly add to my desire to buy it. I dunno, I just thought they'd have done something a little more special than this for the Anniversary Edition. I don’t know what it’s going to take to get RGB out on DVD, but I really don't think the sales from this are going to do much to influence that decision.

I'm not sure either. Sony has GOT to know how many of us want it. I mean, if some of the cr*p that's coming out can be on the shelves, why not this? Must be a backlash against quality...

Well, according to posts on GBHQ, the eps are "Citizen Ghost" (YAY!!! The guys and Janine as they should be, in a logical choice) and "Partners In Slime" (well, I guess Louis had to show up, since he's a big part of both movies, plus mommy-Janine). Plus the print looks a LOT better in some screencaps I saw. OK, I'm actually not disappointed (although "Take Two" SHOULD have been the other one).

That's good news. "Citizen Ghost" is a key episode and one of the best, and "Partners in Slime" is always a good watch.

"Partners In Slime" wasn't the absolute best, but it was the only episode to make any direct reference to GB2, so yeah, it works. And it wasn't the absolute worst either--in fact, I considered it the first "ray of hope" after GB2, even before RGB#16: I seem to recall a really good reaction shot or two from Egon when Janine was captured by the Ghostfather.

I still love the whole "tackle" scene in Citizen Ghost, especially the way Janine says "Story of my life!" Another clue to her past, maybe?

Where are these links to these episode captures I'm hearing about?

If you mean the screencaps I mentioned, there's a post over on GBHQ with links to a site that compares thepicture quality of previous GB releases to the new one. I forgot exactly where it was, but it should be somewhere near the end of the topic where we're discussing/whining about/lusting after the new DVD release.

Yeah, apologies to all, the way it was implied suggested there were screencaps of the episodes, but in fact only referred to the movies.
