What Could Have Been: My Thoughts the RGB Promo

Yesterday I went to Spook Central & looked at the Original Real Ghostbusters page. I know everyone probably see the promo, but I noticed some smaller things.

Peter's hair was more Bill Murray-esque,

The BGM the whole time is John Smith's version of the Ghostbusters theme,

Some parts were later used in the first intro,

The ghosts with "Onionhead" & Stay Puft were also used in said intro,

Ecto-1 & the Proton Packs' design were later used for the toys,

The particle throwers had a mix of movie & original design,

and the streams were all yellow instead of orange & blue, it's amazing what can be noticed when you look hard.

I admit when I first saw those promo pictures, it was quite strange...I realize that if that version had been the final look for RGB, at least some of the arguments between fans of the animation and the Movie Purists would've been avoided...no arguments about what color uniforms they should wear and all that.

I may be a shrinking minority, but I'm a minority that's actually kind of glad the animation producers dared to be a little more different. I like the multi-colored outfits. Just look up at the art in the board's masthead, right?

On the other hand, if Slimer had stayed evil we never would've had to endure some of the stupid episodes we eventually did. Six of one, half a dozen of the other, I guess...

You're not a minority there Fritz. When I showed my neice my RGB tape, she asked who was who in an extreme wide shot. Just by looking at the uniforms I told her. Now she can tell me who's who.
