I don't know about the rest of you, but I sometimes think of things to say about the glib remarks and such Fritz puts in the 'Events this month' section thingy. And I never voice these things I think of. I think, Where would I put these comments? Apparently I had some kind of mental block about starting a thread for it, until today. So, it's February '07 right now, even though the weather in south-east England seems to think it's, like, April. Weird. Anyway. Fritz, you're entitled to be self-indulgent on your own board, as you have this month. Everyone else, I'm sure, will nod and agree. I never particularly noticed that TJ was a little bit older than John, until it was laid out raw for me like that. Do we know which part of England she was born in? I sometimes wonder, and always forget to ask. Hmm... maybe I should go check out the timeline... Ah, it doesn't say. Hayden and Lars Wallance were born in February as well. Lars, bless him, has been so uninteresting that I never bothered giving him a birthday. But I've grown so fond of Hayden, dear Hayden, he's lovely, and when I was writing 'Don't Try to Change Me' I decided to give him the same birthday as Kylie (February 12th, same as Abraham Lincoln, clever of Tara Strong to be born on a day I'd remember) because it occurred to me that everybody seems to have a different birthday, and statistically that's very unlikely. Well, done for now. But I'm sure I'll be back on this thread in the coming months.

I admit I've not been as pithy with this year's batch of comments. I decided to go with titles that made better descriptions on the main page and most of the time just linked to profile pages.
Well, it was here until last week. After extremely mild weather Indy went into deep freeze last Sunday.
There's a lot that I haven't revealed, or even set in my own mind yet. I kind of assume that she was born in or around London, though that isn't a necessity. I know her family was in that city in 2005, as I have a specific event in mind. Other than that, a lot of her family backstory is still a bit fluid at this moment: she's basically protracted from a character who was a alien in other versions of her (ie a Green Lantern in our DC Heroes campaign, a Jedi in our Star Wars scenario) so I haven't figured out how to adapt everything yet.
I'll certainly listen to the advice of people who know the United Kingdom a lot better than I do, obviously.
I actually ended up going ahead and setting her age from an estimate Ben put in "Seperated at Rebirth". The exact day of the year matches previous versions, where I gave it to her ironically since she starts off in, well, Spenglerish all business "I have no time for that love crap" mode.
You mentioned that in your latest story, and those were added to the GBI Timeline at the last update. Hayden is down for Feb. 12, 1994, Lars for "late February or Early March 1995". And Emilia is down for January 1998, making her...wrap your brain around this...about a month older than TJ.
(I just now realized that...it tempts me to have them know each other, though that might be getting too cutesy...)
And does your affection for Hayden Wallance have anything to do with him having the same first name as the actor in your avatar, maybe? (Heh...now I have an idea at what he should look like...)

I'll certainly listen to the advice of people who know the United Kingdom a lot better than I do, obviously. Sensible man. ;D Well, let's look at this sensibly. If you want the Andersons to be from London (not final, I know, but if), it'd be well-to-do London (TJ, in my head, has a voice very close to Kate Wallance's - I must have heard a posh woman talk like that at some time during my life); the Wallances live in Chelsea, which is right near Kensington, and those are the two well-to-do areas that spring to mind. The other major one is Belgravia, which is a bit further away... and I guess Westminster... but none of them are a million miles away from each other, obviously (if you were from New York, you'd probably think London was tiny). Depending on things, they might at least have bumped into each other. I dunno. Ahahaha... You really want to know? Even though I would have created Hayden Wallance in something like 2003, definitely after Attack of the Clones came out and I was aware of the handsome young star in it, there was a very long time when I didn't actually know his name (I didn't know I liked Star Wars then and didn't bother finding out). I named Hayden Wallance, thinking that Hayden was a drab pretentious name. Shows what I know. So I guess maybe the development Hayden has seen has a little something to do with Christensen of the same name (*sigh*), and a little something to do with the, um, "joke" you made all those years ago. He doesn't really look like Hayden Christensen, though. A couple of times I've watched Tom Felton in the Harry Potter movies, and thought, I want him to play Hayden in the movie. (That's how pathetic I am. : He looks quite a lot different in my head, but more like Felton than Christensen. ...I'll shut up now.

I've got about three or four ideas, but haven't decided which one to use yet. He certainly idolizes Uncle Egon enough to be a possible GBI candidate, but Egon's already got one niece in the company. Some ideas I've tossed around in my head;
--Radio pesonality.
--Rabbi
--Marine
--Lawyer (which is deliciously ironic considering how much he's always disdained Louis Tully)
--Poltician (there were political figures in the family before, ie Alec Jacobs)
But on the whole I'm leaving it vague until one of those ideas--or even another one--really sticks and leads to (or comes from) a story idea.

I'm sorry, Fritz, but you made a little error with Conchita's birthday by saying it's the 18th. It doesn't really matter, but I thought maybe you'd want to be told.

Ah...now I see.
It's down on the right day, but I typed in the wrong date on the actual entry. It was in the right place, May 21, but not labelled right.
Argh...

I don't think Vigo's full name comes from canon. Isn't that the surname of the twins who played Oscar? As I recall, it means "German village" (my brother and I established this while I was still studying German, and I got a top grade in my GCSE, so it's probably correct).

You're right that it isn't mentioned in dialog. But if you watch closely, there's one scene where Ray and Egon have called up info on Vigo on a computer screen, and the full name Vigo Von Hamburg Deuschendorf is seen.
And yeah, the name is an in-joke: Wilhelm Von Hamburg played Vigo, and the Deuschendorf Twins played infant Oscar Wallance.

Ah, see, it seemed like something you would do - and I very rarely watch that closely. But they had a lovely couple of European - or, more specifically, German names there - I can't say I'm surprised they used them in that way.
I didn't remember the name of Vigo's actor. Is that the real reason Oscar's middle name is Wilhelm?

I honestly don't remember for sure, but I wouldn't be surprised. It would kind of continue the joke, wouldn't it?
