Characters List??? Anywhere?

There are so many characters out there! It's way too many for a new one to the business to track down each character to it's creator. Couldn't we just have a Topic (like this for example) that lists simply all characters someone created?
And only some minor informations like: "Feel free to use" and "Permission needed". That would make things easier for newcomers!

If there's already such a list I'll just punish myself for not seeing it!

BTW the creation of such a list is easy: Each one just lists his own characters.

I've given some thought to it, though never got around to it. There are some helpful guidelines, though:

Characters in a GBI Franchise belong to the member of the franchise who plays or created them. If you have any specific questions, direct it to the Franchise CEO.

I do try to cite fan creators in the Ghostbusters New York pages, which have quick bios and timelines of the RGBs, EGBs, and many of their children as detailed by the GBOT fan fic continuity.

Does this mean all the GBNY-Characters are free-for-all? Or must I ask first before I write about the children?

It's better if you check first, or at the very least let the person who created the character see the story--or at least the parts of the story their character is in--before posting it. Two weeks is the interval I try to use to give someone time or accept or reject a story.

The kids are created by the fan writers, with the exception of Oscar Wallance, of course, who is the baby seen in GB2. In the GBOT version, though, his life has been extensively defined by EGB Fan, so for our purposes he's practically hers. I created the rest of the RGB kids (Eric Stantz, John and Eden Spengler, Charlene Zeddemore) except for Jessica Venkman, who is EGB Fan's (she's Oscar's half-sister too). She created all the EGB kids: Conchita and Rose Rivera and Max Miller (Roland as yet has no kids)

I know you don't mean to, Fritz, but that makes me feel terrible.

Simeon, if you ever feel the desire, you have my blanket permission to use any of my characters, if (like everyone else) you let me see the story beforehand and take any tactfully phrased suggestions. Fritz has already listed the main ones; I've created several tertiary characters that I don't anticipate anybody ever wanting to use, but I don't think I'll start listing them here unless it becomes an issue.

If you're wanting to use any GB relatives, offspring or otherwise, it's helpful to look at this; each character has a list of known relatives, and for any original fan characters the creator's name will appear: "Canon is fan (Fritz Baugh/Sheila Paulson/EGB Fan - usually one of these... er, us).

It's just this: At the End of my story Simeon and Sophia will move to NY because Simeon gets a Pastor job in Queens. They will stay there for at least three years having much contact to the GBNY. And since the XGB are just 2 or 3 years younger than simeon the most contact would be between them. And Sophia will be pregnant again by the end of the story which means she would be about the same age as your character Conchita.

My further ideas for those German GB's is that they join GBI finally around 2003/04 and then leave NY for Frankfurt Maine to build up a Franchise in Germany.

So please tell me if you don't like this.

I can't think of much objection to the basic idea. Just don't overdo the interactions--you want the characters to stand on their own. And consider the fact that none of the characters have been mentioned in GBNY stories taking place in that time period--it would upset pre-established continuity if they become "important" too soon.

That's just the point, that he will just be there as a pastor. He will not be a Member of GBI until 2007. But he will learn certain things because he prepares himself for opening a franchise. And believe me - in Germany opening SUCH business can take years before the bureaucrats say it's okay!
But I will think it over again. Maybe 2001 is too early for let him go to the states.
