I heard there are some Dalek figures out there; cute considering they can exterminate you from the toy shelf! ;^)

I must say w/o giving away too much but I do appreciate the fact that the writers do eplain what happens when a companion chooses to travel w/the doctor. It does have consequences & the TARDIS technology (& the docotor) isn't perfect.

It's probably far more entertaining that the TARDIS seems almost as erratic as the Doctor at times. And then off course, he bashes the console with a hammer. There was another good line: "it was both a time travelling spacecraft and a obsolete piece of junk" (To paraphase).

He's been great in the most recent episodes... I'd say even better the Eccleston.
Episode for you guys to watch out for:
The Girl In the Fireplace
There's another one... one aired Saturday just gone... but I don't want to spoil the surprise...

Ahhh, yeah, that World War 2 episode was COOOOL! ;D I'm probably building David Tennant up a bit too much. Honestly, I really really like him. I knew I'd like him more than Eccleston, because I liked him anyway (he saved a dramatisation of Cassanova from being complete poo, in my opinion), and I never liked Eccleston anyway. I'm not saying he wasn't any good at playing the Doctor (I wouldn't know about that - as I say, I'm no expert) - he just gets on my nerves. I kinda liked 'The Girl in the Fireplace' - it had some seriously freaky robot-type evil monsters, and the period costume was fun. I was disappointed with the ending, I do admit. But I don't want to ruin anything for you lot, so I guess maybe we'll discuss it in about a year.

WWII Episodes...two of the best! "It has the power of a GOD....and I sent it to it's room! *nervous laughter* And we're STANDING in it's room!!!" (taken from memory, probably badly!) My cousin got me into it back around 1984 or so. Small world, my cousin got me into it when Sci-Fi picked up the new series. And SHE got into it because she remembers watching the 4th Doctor when she was little... Heh...my DA page *plug* lonelyimmortal.deviantart.com/ *plug* has a fave of a wallpaper someone made of an 'early model' Dalek coming to some stairs and exclaiming "F**K!!!!" Yeah, looks like they've gotten past that weakness. I'm going to inflict violence on someone in Sci-Fi dosen't get the Tennant series too...!!! And btw...I LOVE my Sonic Screwdriver pen/invisibile ink pen! ;D

Lol, yeah - I saw that episode on Sunday. Most people would have seen it on Saturday. Not to sound smug or anything. ;D

So, last night over here in the UK, Torchwood aired with two fifty-minute episodes on BBC3. This is a Doctor Who spin-off starring Captain Jack Harkness, whom everyone interested in this discussion should remember from his adventures in space and time with Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper.
Basically Jack and a small crew of amusing sidekicks run an above-all-authority organisation that tracks, captures, researches and, when necessary, destroys alien life in Cardiff (something tells me there will prove to be a lot more alien life in Cardiff than any of us originally thought). Episode one shows the recruitment of a new member to Torchwood (that's giving nothing away) - a police officer named Gwen who becomes borderline obsessed with finding out just what Torchwood is and what they're doing, and ends up fulfilling a role similar to that of the Doctor's companion: the character the audience can supposedly relate to, being fresh out of the real world and reminding the isolated alien-hunters "what it means to be human". She's extremely compassionate, and feisty, and thinks Torchwood could do more to "help" - you know the kind of character I mean.
In my opinion, it's not as good as it thinks it is, but not as bad as I thought it was going to be (I never go into spin-offs with a positive outlook). But of course, with only two episodes, it hasn't had much of a chance to get going - I shouldn't be so quick to judge. The humour is pretty good, though I feel a bit contrived at times; the drama, I thought, was a little too much. The plots weren't bad - at least, not as bad as I thought they were in the latest series of Doctor Who (which is a shame - Tennant, I feel, as the better actor, deserved storylines as good as Eccleston's - but that is another issue).
The show aired at ten, after the nine o'clock watershed (as time was moving forward last night, as it usually does), some three hours after DW's usual slot. And boy, didn't they cater to the more mature audience...

The States just saw The Girl in the Fireplace, who surprisingly, isn't the creepy crawly in this great, touching episode. Rose jealous, Mickey now on board. The masks were eerie. I already accept Tennant.
Last week we saw the brief reappearance of Sarah Jane Smith & K9 (& Giles!). I'd like to see more companions from the Doctor's past, but only itf it's natural & unforced. Good episode for us old schoolers!.

We're a little way into Tennant's second series, and up until a couple of weeks ago it was pretty good. But last night's episode (part 2 of "The Blood Family") - oh it was awful! I really, really hated it. Tennant is such a good actor - he deserves far better material than that pile of crap.
