Rumor has it RTD wants to end Dr Who after the 4th year (is that next yr?)...whether he means the show or his involvement I know not. We're still waiting for the current season in USA...and waiting...and waiting.

Finally, the Doctor is back in the house (stateside). Nice references to Rose. Catch the premiere? Love those eerie Father Christmases!

I think even someone who enjoys the references to Rose will find them a bit much after, I dunno, four or five episodes. One or two, ok fine, but they really really overdo it and it ended up just getting right on my nerves.
Like I said, "The Blood Family" is just awful. Watch out for (I think) "The Crying Angels" - by far the strongest of the season. Overall, though... disappointing. The three-part finale... overdone, and in parts extremely predictable.
David Tennant still does a beautiful job - I wish they could have given him some better material. And I can't help feeling a leeeetle bit suspicious about Freema Agyeman. She played a different character in that Cybermen episode, I don't have time to look up the title right now, and died. Apparently she was so good Russell T just had to ask her back - that is for the regular role in DH, and a guest appearance in the sexed-up spin-off Torchwood. I mean... she seemed pretty average to me, and still does - and I've heard that a very popular and pretty famous soap actress (Michelle Ryan, who has since found success with the Bionic Woman remake(!)) was turned down for the part.

Well, not the first time that's happened in DW history. In 1983 an actor named Colin Baker played a Gallifreyan guard captain ("Arc of Infinity" a Peter Davison (Doctor #5) story)...and a couple of years later, got hired back as Doctor #6

As Martha Jones explained in her 1st ep, that character was her cousin...made some reference with the word Wolf(e) in it...referring the satellite/space station (?). I think it was a way of letting the audience know that we knew where the actress 1st appeared, if this makes sense.
And Fritz, not all Bakers who play the Doctor are good. I recall seeing Colin back in the day.
I'd like to see more people from the Time Lord's past, perhaps an evil Time Lord (a la The Master) or a female Time Lord ( a la Romana), eg "you're aren't the last Time Lord". These are fine if they don't come off tacky & strained.
