She Who Never Stops: Part 1As though it wasn’t bad enough that Slimer’s gone missing, the Ghostbusters have some unwanted visitors appearing in their basement as if from nowhere. When one of them insists that he can help, they can only hope he knows what he’s talking about. A/N: I have finally succumbed to the inevitable and started writing an Extreme Ghostbusters/Danny Phantom crossover. I am, after all, only human. If you know nothing about Danny Phantom, please do not let that put you off. I am writing this story with a Ghostbusters audience very much in mind. My apologies for this.

My first thought was "This must be how everyone else felt when I put out 'Digibusters'..."
I'm not familiar with Danny Phantom, but as a Ghostbusters story this was, as is your usual, an interesting read.

She Who Never Stops: Part 2A/N: I’m having enough personal fun with this story to justify writing it at all - but with that said, I am sufficiently lacking in pride to make one more plea for readers. Fritz (thank you, Fritz, for your comment) has mentioned his crossover story “Digibusters”, which I seem to remember a lot of people (including myself) enjoyed just as a straightforward Ghostbusters story. In some ways, this one isn’t so different. Here’s why you might just enjoy it: 1. There isn’t a single scene without a Ghostbuster in it. 2. I’ve got some E/J stuff into this part, which I know is always a plus on this board. 3. Not only are you not expected to know anything about Danny Phantom - it will actually help you to enjoy this story if you don’t. No, really. In it, the Ghostbusters go into a situation completely blind, that might just as well involve any other set of characters you know nothing about. I have structured the story in this way deliberately, in the hope that a few of my readers from the Ghostbusters fandom would give it a chance. This is all I can say. For anyone who’s interested, some more visual aids: Vlad MastersValerie Gray

Smashing. I never expected it, but somebody's written a review at fanfiction.net. It's a poor review, in my opinion, consisting almost entirely of this is what I would have done differently and it would have been better - but anyway, apparently this person doubts that the Ghosbusters' equipment would work against the ghosts in Danny's world: something about them being "older" and "so powerful", as I recall. Do we agree? Don't think so.

And it was hilarious, with the fractured take and, gasp, Mary Sue joke.
The rest of it was great too. I wonder if the reason Vlad doesn't want Egon around is because he figures of anybody can figure out what he's really up to and stop him, it's the "legendary" founding Ghostbuster.
I think Vlad is going to be unpleasantly surprised by the capabilities of the younger crowd, though.
That's what I thought when I saw it, too. There was a distinct "my cartoon is better than the other one, so there's no way that other one could be of any threat" vibe going on.
And hell, who knows, I may actually finish "Digibusters" one of these days

...with the fractured take and, gasp, Mary Sue joke. I thought you'd like that. ;D I'll try to get more of that kind of thing into subsequent parts (I anticipate two more, possibly not quite so long as 1 and 2), in the hope of keeping you Ghostbuster fans hooked - but before I can do that I really have to move away from drawing parellels between my two favourite shows. At the moment, part 3 contains a lot of, Hey, this reminds me of... kind of stuff. Oops. I may have to cut it down. That's more or less what my brother said. Then he had a short rant about how the Ghostbusters' equipment is so much superior to Danny's (true) that they wouldn't have half the problems with the Ghost Zone that Danny has (also probably true). I always knew he'd enjoy the story, even if no one else did - but fortunately Fritz and Jason both seem to be getting into it too, as well as somebody called purplemonkey at ff.net, who left me a much nicer review. ;D Edit: This person's a Danny Phantom fan all right. (S)he appears to be one of the many who enjoy making far-fetched guesses about what the characters will or won't do based on little or no evidence (I'm never joining a DP board unless the fans step up their game a bit, but I do lurk occasionally). Please be aware that Vlad isn't trying to train Danny for anything. There's no evidence in the show to suggest as much. Vlad has admitted to deliberately testing Danny to get the measure of him; and yes, once upon a time, he wanted to lure Danny over to the dark side. But he gave up on that a long time ago. Take it from a fan with some modicum of intelligence: Vlad wants Danny out of the way, pretty much by the end of season 1. Do. Edit 2: A picture of Valerie in a more up-to-date costume, and the Ghost Zone (with Danny flying around in it).

I found my self getting mad at Danny's attitude and the decisions he was making in this story .
be for you go thinking I'm trashing your story no just the opposite
I was getting mad in the same way as I would if i saw episode I would see on TV
so when I was listening to it in my minds eye I forgot that it was a fan fix and thought it was a real episode ( one that hadn't bin made yet )
so good job ;D ;D ;D you have got a good handle on the characters .
I love this part
If that ain't the pot calling the kettle black
and I must say
Vlad is a F@%*ing idiot any number of ghost in the Containment Unit could kick the ghost kings but let alone Vlad's

Indeed. The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, the Master of Shadows, Samhain, the Boogeyman...and those are just the one that pop out from the top of my head. If I looked at the episode guide I could probably quintuple that easy. Vlad's info apparently has some gaps in it.
And yeah, I did love the scene at the end. The bit where Vlad posessed Janine reminded me of the last part of "Tobin and the Maze of Time" (a Now comics story) where the villain disguses himself as Janine. The other three are fooled, but Egon pretty much sees through it instantly and blasts "her"

Vlad is no F@%*ing idiot. Overconfident enough to dismiss the gaps in his knowledge as unimportant? Certainly. At any rate, he doesn't anticipate being involved in any butt-kicking - but, needless to say, his plans will be revealed in part 4. I found my self getting mad at Danny's attitude and the decisions he was making in this story. I'm glad. Danny, as much as I love him, can be exasperating at times. That's really what I was going for. And yeah, I did love the scene at the end. The bit where Vlad posessed Janine reminded me of the last part of "Tobin and the Maze of Time" (a Now comics story) where the villain disguses himself as Janine. The other three are fooled, but Egon pretty much sees through it instantly and blasts "her" Vlad, being from Danny Phantom Land, prefers "overshadow" - but it all amounts to the same thing. I wanted to get some overshadowing into the story somehow when it was still in the very early stages (it's such a cool power! ;D) - it wasn't until I started writing part 2 that I figured out how to do it. While I was writing the scene, I got a weird feeling that the person at ff.net who has a lot of complaints about this story would have a problem with Vlad attempting to seduce Egon (though not, of course, in the strictest sense of the word) - but I guess we shall see. Anyone who watches the show will know that both Danny and Vlad are always very obvious when they overshadow somebody - it's just that everyone in Amity Park is too stupid to notice. I happen to think that Vlad did a better job of overshadowing on this occasion than he usually does (he would have realised that he had to) - but I guess that however convincing he was, Egon still would have realised. Thanks for your comments.

She Who Never Stops: Part 4Apologies for the delay (excuses are in my DA journal, if you really want to know). But here it is: the concluding part of "She Who Never Stops". (Jason, don't worry about the spoiler - you already read it once. ) Now rated T for a leeeetle bit of violence. Clockwork 1 and 2 (I looked all over Wikipedia for a picture of him in his third form, and I tried a Google image search, but all to no avail).

There's one other way this story is a little like "Digibusters"--it has the Ghostbuster characters in it in their "classic" status quo. "Digibusters" follows the RGB before their breakup, all the weddings, EGB, more weddings, kids, all of the stuff we've built into them over the years. "She Who Never Stops" similarly hasn't had the weddings, the kids, the years of stories. They're still young and raw, Eduardo and Kylie still in the "when are they just going to get with it?" stage. I just found that an interesting parallel. Anyway... Great ending. A nice little bit of temporal shenanigans; I could imagine if Clockwork ever ran into Delphia or Professor Ulforce, it would be a fascinating conversation. I will admit to my own "my show is better blah blah blah"-ish thought: given the time and resources, Egon might be able to, if not open the same portal, certainly access the same dimension if he'd obtained enough readings on the PKE and epsilon particle rotation (and other pseudoscience hooey); he built dimensional portals of his own several times in the show, and even had a vehicle that could jump dimensions in the Now comics (the ECTO-4) But at the same time that stuff is expensive to build and use, and come to think of it even in the fan fics they haven't done any of that since the RGB days. I even mention somewhere (CoG?) that the ECTO-4's transdimensional drive isn't online. Ah there we go, I just wrote myself out of my own critique...
