Due out next summer. What are the chances, given his dislike of doing sequels, that Bill Murray will come back as the voice of the kitty? (He was good, but I sure missed Lorenzo Music...)

Just wanted to spread the word. Just saw the teaser and trailer at Moviefone, and this one looks like it'll actually be *gasp* GOOD! But I'm wondering- who's doing the voice of Garfield's twin, Prince? Unless Bill Murray can do a very convincing and proper English accent, there's two va's in this one.

OK, went to see it this weekend. Better than the first one! The husband went with me ( since I had my little operation, he doesn't want to leave me alone for some strange reason. But I can't do much, and I HAD to get of this apartment or I'd go crazy. So I'm breaking the rules by driving again. However, I digress...), and I thought I'd never be able to drag him to this movie. He even liked it, and he did NOT like the first one (he's not a big Garfield fan, anyway, though he likes the series and specials). I won't give much/anything away in case I spoil it for someone, but the scenes of the two cats together (no, Bill does not do Prince's voice, Tim Curry does) were incredible.
My favorite bit:
Liz: So how do we tell them apart? (Garfield pushes Odie off the chair) Liz: Garfield.
It's in one of the trailers, but it was still funny.
Broke down and bought the DVD rerelease of the first movie. The extras are fascinating.

That's sounds good. I might go see the movie one of these days. I haven't seen the first one. I know I would enjoy sequel more. Thanks for sharing your review.

The first one was VERY formulaic, and, having watched the animated Garfield for years, there was a lot I recognized. But ToTK was less so, and was actually hilarious in places. If you get the DVD of the first one, get the new Purr-fect Collector's Edition. That's the one with the extras.

If they do a third one, and Murray is still in it, I think a lot of GB fans are going to be livid

They'd burn down Hollywood, that's for sure.

They'd burn down Hollywood, that's for sure. I believe they'd ignite Murray's house w/gasoline soaked Garfield plush dolls.

You know me too well. ;D I already fleshed out all of the idea last night with Ecto-1, I just need to work on the punchline. Thanks, Maria. It might even go up as July's strip, seeing as this Ghostbusters 3 nonsense doesn't appear to be stopping.

I can see it now: "Fans hold vigil outside Murray's house...wait, those aren't lit candles, they're flaming Garfiled plushies they're holding!" Oh, the humanity.

Playing devil's advocate, though, isn't voice work, which is basically what he did, much easier than being in front of the camera?
*hopes I don't get clobbered for saying I actually liked both Garfield movies*
And I like my Garfirld plushies. Can I light up a Nermal one instead? That kitten deserves it!
