Hey did any one ever watch this show when it used to be on? This was favorite show and I used to watch all the time and it was pretty funny and I always liked the part Dr. Claw gets mad when he loses and he takes his anger out on Madcat. I liked the first movie with matt broderick he made a good gadget. But the second movie which I watched twice it sucked! And the only person from the original cast was back was D.L. Hugley as the voice of the Gadget mobile. The sequel was very lame and what does eveyone else think?

Yeah, I watched it and enjoyed it, but I wasn't exactly what you might call a fan. Gadget was very funny, Quimby made me laugh a few times and I had to have a soft spot for Brain because he was a dog. And Penny... meh. I've actually seen a few repeats on cable recently but it's lost a lot of its charm since I was like 6 (unlike a lot of other cartoons - I don't mind admitting it).

I loved the series when I was a child. However I was very disappointed with the movie version. Matthew Broderick was good as the Inspector but what the hell did they do to Dr. Claw!? He went from being a really great villain to a camp scenery-chewing rent-a-villain in a business suit. Plus the whole Evil Gadget thing stunk of laziness to me.

Hey I thought was pretty good and I was very dissapointed with the second movie though and French Stewart was alright as Gadget but he was too sarcastic to me and what with that female Gadget clone?! The cartoon series and first movie I liked best and I didn't like sequel though.

I remember watching the cartoons when I was a kid. I've been tempted to buy them on DVD because I've seen them lately on the shelf. I did enjoy the Inspector Gadget movie immensely since I'm such a big fan of Matthew Broderick. He was so adorable. The second movie just annoyed the heck out of me.

I've actually never seen any of the movies, but I did watch the cartoon when I was younger (yeah, it's so old I was technically still a kid when it came out ) It was a lot of fun even if it was (like many cartoons of it's day) tremendously formulaic. ANY EPISODE OF "INSPECTOR GADGET": --Chief Quimby calls Gadget and has him meet him at a bizarre place. Quimby gives Gadget a note that tells about MAD's latest operation. Gadget tosses the note to wherever Quimby is before it explodes --Gadget tells Penny and Brain to stay home because it's dangerous, then he goes to investigate. --Brain disguises himself to infiltrate MAD's operation; Gadget quickly becomes convinced he's a MAD agent and spends the episode chasing him around while Penny uses her Computer Book to figure out what's actually going on. --Penny and Brain sabotage the MAD operation, often resulting in massive explosions; Dr. Claw leaves in his jet plane fuming "Next time, Gadget, next time..." and often beats up Mad Cat. Gadget lands in just the right place and the right time during the chaos that it looks to the world like he foiled MAD's sceme. But it was still a fun show, with some talented voice actors (Don Adams, Maurice LaMarche, and Frank Welker headlining the cast)

Yeah well, kids like repetition. For example, any afternoon with a particularly cute 5 year old I know: I read him a story called "The Emergency" and we talk about the pictures. He reads me a much easier book called "Go Away Floppy". He empties my envelope of stickers all over the table and picks one to put on his sweater. I draw a picture of an elephant and he colours it in. I'm not going off-topic - I'm making a point. I was tiny when my brother and I used to watch Inspector Gadget. It was kind of reassuring knowing what to expect, and that way you could always guarantee that you'd enjoy it. Why change a winning formula? I've seen the first movie and a feature-length animation. In both cases I laughed a couple of times, but overall I didn't like them much. I didn't like that they made the Gadget-Mobile an actual character, and a blatant stereotype at that. But Michelle Trachtenberg rarely disappoints and I'll sit through anything that has a dog in it.

And whenever I watch it and sometimes watching Dr. Claw getting mad and having his little tamtrums are pretty funny. LOL sorry to bump this thread.
