Personally, I like the idea of a dysfunctional cult sacrificing some poor puppy (couldn't resist a classic cliche) to summon up a great and powerful spirit, and well....they're not exactly the Order of Hermes...lackluster rituals will make a lackluster summon...
I'd say a puppy spirit would definately explain Slimer's mannerisms.
As for Ray being in Casper...
...I never really particularly liked that part of the movie....

Ok, seriously. I seem to remember I mentioned that particular movie in one of my stories. The EGBs were discussing something that came up in the movie... I've a feeling it was to do with ghosts not remembering what happened to them in life (which Casper doesn't)... anyway, I think the story was pre-timeline but Fritz made it fit and it now is timeline, which means it was probably "Suez Canal". So what's this leading up to? If I'm to be taken seriously, Casper is a movie in the mad little world we have created, which fits with the idea I like best: Ray wasn't a Ghostbuster at that time, he was probably a bit bored or something, and was offered a cameo in the movie as a joke - it certainly seems to me to be what fits best. (Of course if it really happened he/they would be able to deal with four common-or-garden ghosts.) Well, that's my tuppence worth, anyway.

Or, like I said, Aykroyd did the cameo in character, as the Ghostbusters movies do exist in the GBOT fan continuity as movies (per "Take Two". And remember Aykroyd and Hudson made cameos in "Forever")

I agree with that conclusion Fritz. EGBFan- Did the story state that it was Ray? If so it could be modified slightly to say that Dan was playing Ray. I think it was agreed on before that, as more stories come, and more facts are added to the timeline, some modification will be needed in many of the stories, I actually have a few things to change myself. I love your stories and I'm glad you want them to be included in the timeline and correct. ghostdiva

The story doesn't mention Ray being in the movie - just the movie itself. It shouldn't cause any problems.

It probably works better in the Omnibus Universe to have it as Dan Aykroyd doing a cameo, as people are more likely to recognise him as Ghostbuster Ray Stantz then the actual Ray Stantz.

Alright, question. In 'Gemini Rising P3' there is mention of the acknowledgment that in the omnibus timeline there was a GB animated tv show. Now, in the RGB ep 'Egon on the Rampage' there is obviously a live action tv show that we see the team watching, I say live action because in the OTL the RGB are 'real' and if RGB was animated, or 'real', then the show they were watching was animated or 'real' also. Right? So does it go into canon that there was a live action GB show in the 80s? If this is confusing, just say so and I'll retype it clearer. ghostdiva

I'll be honest, I'd forgotten about that one--but I think it'd probably be better to just attribute it to a flash of whimsy by the cartoon writers. The story takes place in (GBOT terms) 1985, and in the Real World there were no Ghostbuster shows, live action or animated, in 1985.

LOL. I'm glad you were able to decifer that, I was afraid it wouldn't make any sense. Okay, so no live-action tv series. Got it. ghostdiva

Now what about World of the Psychic? How long was that on tv?

Now what about World of the Psychic? How long was that on tv? Assuming Venkman was the only host (he started the show and they cancelled it when he went back to Ghostbusters): fall 1986-November 1988 is the only time it could've run. So about two years at most.

Next time you update the timeline, Fritz, would you mind removing "the former" from "...born to Hayden Wallance and the former Jessica Venkman"? She'd really hate that. Cheers.

Just to be clear (I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but just to remove all doubt), do I keep referring to her by her maiden name, or start calling her Jessica Wallance?

Come that day, anyone suggesting that Jessica take Hayden's name will be advised to take a long walk off a short pier.
