I LIVE!
Having spent the last year proving I have nothing worthwhile to say by not saying anything, i have decided to give myself a purpose on this board by irregularly posting current headlines I see on the tabloids around here that amuse me.
Anyone else who sees a good one should feel free to put it up.
Let's start this off with this gem from this week's Weekly World News
Jonah's Skeleton Found in Mouth of Whale

Yay, Al's back!
Um. Seriously? The British tabloids don't usually go that far into the realms of utter ridiculousness. But of course I shall keep an eye on them.

Meant to get back to this sooner, but as Fritz will gladly attest, the 'puter I use can occasionally choose simply NOT to let me connect to the net for no good reason.
Here are two more from Weekly World News
Bat Boy Spotted in New York Subway
And this one, which is just too apropos to being posted on a GB message board
Alien Mummy goes on Rampage
While I am at it, here's one from another paper: The Sun (I don't THINK it's affiliated with the british tab of the same name):
Bible Prophecy to come true this year, Avenging Angels will come down to smite our enemies[/size]
This last one is a paraphrase, as it was a fairly long headline, and I am NOT about to shell out good money to actually BUY one of these things.

I remember back in 2001--they sent Bat Boy into the caves in Afghanistan to find Bin Laden. So I guess it's his fault we never caught the guy.

Been a dearth of really outrageous headlines lately.
Saw this weeks Weekly World News and KNEW I had to post it;
It was no Iceberg! NUKE SUNK TITANIC
and I thought to myself "WOW! somebody went and used a doomsday weapon to smite a harmless passenger liner Fourty Years before Nuclear weapons were even invented!
Awesome...

Perhaps it was an alien spacecraft partially exposed above the water!

No, no, no. Gremlins sunk the Titanic. Puh-leeze! Everyone knows it was Jack Thompson's ego that it hit, causing catestrophic damage that sunk the ship. He would later claim the ship was on drugs, and tried to attack him.

Egon Spengler, or the Weekly World News?
I'm gonna have to give the credibilty edge to Egon.
But here's another Weekly World News headline for you (Maybe I should just go ahead and rename this thread Al's Weekly World News headline list)
World's Fattest Cat Saves Christmas!

I'd love to know the story behind that. So I guess the headline does its job.
