Yay! Tell Fritz I'm really looking forward to hearing from him - I missed exchanging messages with him more than I would have imagined. And give him another hug from me, Al - assuming you passed on the first one.

Saw Fritz again today. He's looking good. The docs say he should be up and moving again in a less than a day, and going home in a week or so. Everything seems to be going smoothly [knock on wood]. That's wonderful news! I'm very pleased that he's on the road to recovery. I hope he gets well soon, and quickly returns to these boards in good health. I'm looking forward to seeing what he thinks about the new novel. Thank you very much for filling us in on his condition, Al. I appreciate it must have been difficult with all that's been going on, and I thank you very, very much for thinking of us here and taking the time out to keep us informed.

Hey Al,
Do Fritz a favour and tell him Brian Reilly says to hurry the f**k up and get better. The Omnibus Board is dead without him.
Seriously though, tell him we're all pulling for him over at GBHQ and GBO.

Consider your messages already sent.
No real news today, just a few quick words to say that Fritz is doing well and things are going smoothly.
As much as you miss him, I think he misses the lot of you even more. Keep the faith...

As much as you miss him, I think he misses the lot of you even more. Keep the faith... Lol, I suppose if anything else, being in a hospital ward with a large group of friends out of contact reach could be badly isolating, glad to see things are going well, and once aga8n, thanks for keeping us updated.

I suppose if anything else, being in a hospital ward with a large group of friends out of contact reach could be badly isolating. I'm sure the nurses will be keeping him company. As much as you miss him, I think he misses the lot of you even more. Yes, we really do miss him. Everything's been kind of dead at the moment as we're all patiently awaiting the release of the next issue of the comic. Could you tell him it will be out on November 3rd, and to hurry up and get back to full health so that we can all see what he thinks of it and the new novel. Thanks again for the updates. You're a real star, Al.

Saw Fritz again. He's really coming along. The hospital is planning to release him in a few days (if things keep going well, they're shooting for the 20th, but that is subject to change). I'll keep you posted.
At the risk of raising false hope, Fritz mentioned his desire to get online to one of the orderlies at the hospital, and the possibility of them bringing him a laptop or something exists. If so, expect to hear from him any day now. Of course, they also kept him waiting FOUR DAYS for surgery...

All: I wish I had more time, but as Al mentions above, I'm actually making this post from a hospital computer, and I don't have a lot of time right now.
I'll give you more details than you can choke a terror dog with when I get home to my own computer and have the time. There'll be a lesson or two about hubris in there, so maybe it'll be interesting. And I'm still working out exactly how my GBWC counterpart will be affected by all of this...
I wish I could say everything I'm feeling right now, other than you all are some of the best friends a guy could ask for. I especially thank Al (he's also the "Jim Harley" mentioned as co-writer on "Shadow of the Inquisitors"). He's not just my little brother, he's my rock and my best friend--thank you so much for making sure everyone knew I hadn't dropped off the face off the earth without a trace.
Hopefully, it won't be so long that I talk to you all--and the motly crews at Nightsquad and GBHQ--again.
Your wounded but hopeful friend
--Fritz V. Baugh

It's good to hear from you, Fritz. I do hope your recovery is quite speedy and that you hurry back. Maybe your return will bring some calm to the storm. (Well, not here, but elsewhere...)
Hope to talk to you soon.

Echoing raysgal, it's good to hear from you, Fritz. We've all missed you. I look forward to hearing more when you are back to full health and fighting fit. I'm really glad that you are on the mend. Al is certainly a great guy, and he co-write Shadow of the Inquisitors? Wow. You have certainly got some very talented genes in your family. I hope Al stays on the boards after this. We owe him a lot for thinking of us here and filling us in on your progress.

We owe him a lot for thinking of us here and filling us in on your progress. As for Shadow of the Inquisitors, I had little hand in the actual writing of the story (beyond proofreading it for typos, a service I have quietly supplied for most of Fritz's prose, with varying degrees of success). To take credit where it is due, I can safely say it would probably never been written without me. The characters of Barney Lupin, Lilly Peacecraft, Elizabeth Hawthorne, father Diego Santiago Garcia Portenza, Anatole Vashnivski, and baron Igor Vashnivski were all more or less my creations. The general story flow was a truly collaborative effort. Fritz did the grunt work of actually hacking it out and making it readable. (the gag where Barney introduces himself as "Arsene Lupin the fourth" was mine. Anybody get that?). I do intend to stick around after Fritz gets back. Thanks for the warm welcome. I may even get up off my lazy butt and actually compose a story or two of my own. I have this idea for a character piece centered on the newly undead Anatole. If I can figure out where to go with it and actually maintain enough momentum to finish it, I will gladly post it.

Those are some wonderful characters you have created. Both you and Fritz really do have some amazing writing talent. I do intend to stick around after Fritz gets back. Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm very glad that you have decided to stay. I may even get up off my lazy butt and actually compose a story or two of my own. I have this idea for a character piece centered on the newly undead Anatole. LOL. I'd love to read more about Anatole Vashnivski. He's a very intriguing character, and it will be interesting to find out more about him and how he will get his revenge on the Baron.

It's Monday, and the last official word at this moment is that I'll be sprung Wednesday--of course, they've got me scheduled for so many outpatient treatments I wonder if I'll even notice a difference Not to say I'm not a little nervous--I haven't been home in three weeks, and I've got some adjusting to do when I get there (more on this during the Big Explaination Wednesday or Thursday, I promise). Not to mention getting through all the emails I habe bave backlogged. Thank you all again for your support and good thoughts.
