Coming off my TV thread and a convo in another one, this thread is about your favorite TV theme songs. Which ones were perfect for the show? What captured what it was all about? Which ones did you just like enough to want on the radio?
This is about all themes TV; from the original (Three's Company) to the previously popular (Cleveland Rocks).
I'll kick off by saying Batman Beyond had a kick-ass theme. Not only did it rock hard, but it fit the tone of the show. Intro didn't hurt it much niether.

--The 1992 Batman series, which was similar (but not identitical) to the 1989 movie theme.
--All the versions of the Ghostbusters theme emplyed by the cartoons. Yes, I even liked the EGB version. I guess when you start with something as cool as the Ray Parker Jr. theme, it's hard to mess it up (not impossible, just hard)
--Star Trek: The Next Generation. A great blending of the classic theme and that heard in the first movie, which while yeah, it was long and boring, still had great music, and I'm glad Roddenberry or somebody decided to use it again. It deserved more than being lost to a movie most Trek fans try to forget about.
--Law and Order. Hey! I finally worked in a theme that didn't start with a movie first!
--Digimon Season 4. After three years of Shuku Levy's nails-on-chalkboard "Di-di-Digimon" this heroic melody was a welcome change.
--The Daily Show. A great send-up of pompous news show themes. It's actually titled "Dog On Fire"
I'm sure I'll think of some more later.

I love the Daily Show theme.
That particular piece is titled 'I'm not driving anymore[/i], should you wish to give Alta Vista a spin, Fritz.
