Yeah! I really liked this one. Egon plays the boogieman's own cards on him. A little reverse psychology GB style! Terrific.

It's becoming more and more obvious how lazy Now got with their covers...it seemed like starting with #19 or so more often than not they just grabbed a Marvel UK color, recolored it, and put it on their series.
One possible FYI addition for #39: the cover was also slated to be the cover of Now's V2#5, and appears on the back of #4 as a preview of such.

Oooh yeah, I remember that! Good catch, Fritz. I'll throw that up once I get home. Heh been so long since we worked on NOW's section you forget the little things like that when it comes down to it.
And on the covers, yeah, I was amazed at how many actually came from Marvel's run when Fomeboy started posting them on GBC. But it's understandable considering the struggle they must've been having then. Of course, Marvel isn't as innocent as they began reprinting NOW stories in most of their later issues...and then the even later issues begin reprinting older Marvel stories.
Guess they just ran out of steam.

More wild stuff. Some of that stuff, with the "Demon War", sounds like it could be interesting.

It could have been, but of course it had the usual campy twists.

It could have been, but of course it had the usual campy twists. No real surprise there Still, I keep looking at some of the Marvel UK stories I have, and go..."Someday, if I really get stuck for a concept, I may pull one of these out and do it 'right' " No four page resolution, no telepathy with Slimer stuff...

Ah yes...the infamous "ECTO-X" story...
This is only a theory, but I suspect the Marvel UK staff was well along on this story, and even called it "Robobuster", before discovering that DiC had already done an RGB episode with that name. The occassions where they still call the robot Robobuster might have been a couple of spots they missed and didn't get relettered to ECTO-X before printing the story.
But that's only a theory.
