Dana still dresses the same for the most part, regardless of the 20 year time difference. So does Louis, and he's a millionaire now. To be fair, it isn’t very easy to judge Dana’s casual fashion sense in this comic seeing as almost every scene she is in, she is at a restaurant and dressing to look good. Louis is portrayed in both the films and the comics as a geek, so he is going to dress like a geek, no matter how much money he has. In fact, when you compare what he wears in the comic to what he wore in the first film, his style has got worse, not better with money. All I'm saying is styles haven't changed that much, and even if they had, Janine's wouldn't. Every person has their own individual tastes, and my feeling is that Janine's are too unique for any of us to attempt identifying with. Yes, and I totally agree with you. You see, I’m not asking for Janine’s fundamental style to be changed. In fact, what I’ve suggested isn’t much different from what she wears in the comic now - just a slightly shorter skirt, a short-sleeved shirt that isn’t buttoned all the way up to her chin, and a pair of heels. As Ghostdiva already stated, Janine in GB1 did wear heels. If I recall correctly, she also wore a shorter leather skirt in the first film as well, and I think she wore an open-necked shirt in her first ever scene, so my suggestion would still fit in with the established GB1 version of Janine. If they want to put her in a sweater, then they could just put it over her shirt, as they have already done in the comic. It’s not a dramatic change of style, but I just think that they could make her look a little less severe, that’s all.

You know, I've been turning this over in my head...
Maybe it's not that Janine is a prude, or that she's the female equivilant...but maybe she feels everyone (Including Egon) would take her more seriously if she dressed more sensibly.
I ask you, who will you take more seriously?:
A woman with tied back hair, sensible glasses and smart attire.
or:
A woman with lose hair, eccentric glasses and a 'tanktop'
I know RGB Janine didn't wear what'd be called a Tanktop, but the name escapes me.
Additionally, I also wonder, did the her costume change from style to style so much because Steve was trying to find something people'd like?

Actually, "tanktop" is perfectly accurate for that yellow RGB number.

I guess you can blame society for that. I was going to write a more lengthy response, but I think I’ve already covered everything in my earlier posts, and I’ll only be repeating myself again. Basically, I’m not suggesting that Janine should look in the 88mph comic as she does in RGB, but alter what she is already wearing in the comic very slightly, to make her look less severe. Unlike some, I don’t find it degrading for a woman make the most out of her appearance. Unless of course you want to go back a century, when women were covered from neck to toe, it is now more the norm to wear clothes that flatter, rather than cover. To be honest, I’m quite surprised that the suggestion of opening a couple of buttons on a shirt still leads to righteous indignation from some quarters. I really thought that we’d moved on from that.

Eh, well, it would seem some people who shouldn't get offended by that, do...we all have that person in mind when it comes to Janine...still...I guess you just can't figure out some people's motives.

And just think--this is a conversation we just simply couldn't have anywhere else. GBHQ, Omnibus, even if That Person hadn't turned it nasty by now we probably would've stopped talking about it to prevent her from doing so... I think I've made my stance on Janine's wardrobe clear: I wouldn't mind if they had her loosen up just a tad. Let's just see what happens in #2--I half suspect she's gonna show up dressed to kill and leave Egon completely speechless. Or at least I hope that's how it'll go

Anyone notice that 88mph took the ongoing series off of their website?

And just think--this is a conversation we just simply couldn't have anywhere else. GBHQ, Omnibus, even if That Person hadn't turned it nasty by now we probably would've stopped talking about it to prevent her from doing so... …Which is a shame, because I’d love to have a good-natured discussion about the dynamics of Egon and Janine’s personalities, and Egon and Janine as a couple. I came to the GB boards after frequenting the RGB fan fiction lists, and I wondered why there wasn't more discussion about Egon and Janine on the GB boards when there had been quite a bit of discussion about them on the fan fic lists. For me, they were one of the biggest reasons I tuned into RGB every week. Sure, I loved the cool equipment, the action sequences, and the characterisation and interaction of the whole team (including Janine), but if it weren’t for the quirky little romance developing between Egon and Janine, I probably wouldn’t be on this board, or any other GB board today. I loved the E/J moments in the show. For me, that blossoming and complicated relationship in itself was what made RGB different from any other cartoon show at the time. I mean sure, I watched Thundercats, He-Man, Dungeons and Dragons, Transformers, and Ulysses 31, but the only show that I came back to after a break of more than a decade was this one. Call me an old romantic, but I had hoped that something would finally happen between those two, and to find out otherwise was quite disappointing. It’s why I’ve got such high hopes for this comic, which thankfully seems to be heading in the right direction. Anyone notice that 88mph took the ongoing series off of their website? Wow, I have only just noticed that, thanks ghostdiva. I wonder why that’s happened? Please god don’t tell me they’re gonna stop the ongoing. I was so looking forward to issue #2 (for obvious reasons).

I have a great idea!! I think we should all take down bets for plots surrounding sp? Egon and Janine's upcoming date. I am very intrigued by the idea that Peter is going to be involved and that things are going to get "interesting" . What do you guys think will happen, feel free to turn any inquires into short stories. The winner gets ghostbusters know-it-all bragging rights. ghostdiva
