Haven't heard it, not that I know of, and not bloody likely.

Here's another perfect song. I think of Egon talking to Janine, especially in the first two lines.
"Angel Eyes" by Ace of Base from the CD "The Bridge" a slow ballad
I know that I'm not the first one You have love in your path before me But when your lips touched my lips it felt like I was kissing destiny Chorus Angel eyes Will you always be there to hold me Angel eyes I'm satisfied I don't want to hear your story 'Cause I can see the things I really want to see I'm in love
I believe in what I'm feeling I'd give everything up just for you Love is devoted to those who see that the last dance, you dance with the truth
repeat Chorus, except the last line is now in your eyes
Angel eyes just want you here to hold me
repeat chorus/fade out
It's a short one, but really sweet, especially the way Jenny, Linn and Joker sing it. One of my favorites on the whole CD.

Miss Janine I am so glad you opened this back up, since it got put on the wayside. I was going to if someone else didn't That is a very good song for them, though I'm not sure about it for a song to be played at a wedding, though I went to a wedding last week were they danced to the theme for Indiana Jones lol. Anyway, I really want to guess this so I took a clue from the title of the story "Forever" and I found a contender!!! Alabama's "Forever's as Far as I'll Go" I'll admit I could feel it The first time that we touched And the look in your eyes Said you felt as much But I'm not a man Who falls too easily It's best that you know Where you stand with me Chorus: I will give you my heart Faithful and true And all the love it can hold That's all I can do 'cause I've thought about How long I'll love you And it's only fair that you know Forever's as far as I'll go When there's age around my eyes And gray in your hair And it only takes a touch To recall the love we've shared I won't take for granted You'll know my love is true 'cause each night in your arms I'll whisper to you Repeat chorus Tag Forever's as far as I'll go (c) 1990 almo music corp. / brio blues music (ascap). all rights reserved. Ain't that great. Guarenteed to have everyone in tears! What do you think? ghostdiva

Y'know, my brother Al and I sat down and watched the two movies for the first time in like at least a year...
1. Totally unprovoked, this was his comment when the scene where Louis hits on Janine and she asks him to help her babysit Oscar....
"And Ramis called it failed and maudlin in the first movie?"
Al doesn't prowl these boards like I do...and certainly doesn't care about Egon and Janine like I do...so I found this comment extremely gratifying.
2. New theory on the way Janine acts in GB2: forget the slime and the Lotsabucks...I suddenly realize that Janine acts like she's stoned. And again, Al's comment...
Dana: Peter was arrested...
Janine: Typical
Ogre: Ladies and gentlemen, her only in-character line this whole movie.
3. And I could't help myself later, when Louis storms out of GBCentral in Egon's flight suit. "Notice which one Janine, in her drug-induced stupor, puts him in..."
I almost didn't want to post this. There might be a fan fic in this idea...

Interesting. So the theory is...Janine started hitting the bong somewhere around 1989? Or maybe started getting some *ahem* perscription medication from Louis? (referring to his bulk generic drug purchases comment in GB)
Or was Annie Potts acutally blitzed during filming?

I think she most likely got a hold of some of Egon's more choice mushrooms, from his mold and fungus collection. I can hear it now Peter-"Do you think Janine's been acting strange lately?" Ray-"I don't know maybe, a little dazed." Enter Egon from another room- "Have any of you been tampering with my fungus experiment, seems some samples have gone missing from the refrigerator . You should be careful about what you eat, some of those mushrooms have psychedelic tendencies." Ray and Peter- "OOhhhhh" ghostdiva

That would explain the lobotomized versions of Janine. It wasn't the Lotsabucks...it was the 'shrooms! *now sees the Mario games in a whole new light* ;D ;D ;D ;D

Lol...I may be on to something here...
I mean, to be semi-serious, think about it...
She acts much spacier and, frankly, dumber than she did in GB1.
I really could write a story about this...
After Ghostbusters breaks up, Egon pretty much closes her off and she takes it bad. Turns to the booze, or acid, or weed, or something. The Ghostbusters come back, and they rehired her, but she's so stoned she barely notices the Real Life Egon is back in her life.
Hopped on the drugs, she's delusional...she's so addled she starts hitting on Louis Tully, because being drugged out is about the only logical way he wouldn't look like a quantum leap downward in standards from Egon Spengler.
Then, after GB2, there's some kind of crisis where they realize what's going on and have to do an Intervention. Egon is rattled, blurts out he loves her, and they get together.
If I wasn't so damn fond of the Lotsabucks episode, I'd be tempted to say the above is what "really" happened, and JMS came up with the Lotsabucks story because Saturday Morning wasn't ready for a drug abuse story.

It can always be an Apocrypha story...a hilarious one...

The Apocrypha tale could focus on an aspect (that I know of) not focused on: Janine's past. Specifically, her friends and what her life in high school and college might have been like. Perhaps she could have done a lot of experimenting in college, joining her friends in lusting after the football team, while harboring a secret love for intelligent, bookish guys. After college, she dropped her party-girl persona to focus more on actual work, while still keeping that secret love. So when she met Egon, it was like...that's the guy.
I guess the next question is, who will write the backstory for Janine?

Yeah, I like Cliff’s suggestion. I can definitely picture Janine as a bit of a party girl in her younger years, and I can see her going back to her old friends if she was depressed enough about her situation with Egon, and maybe starting up her old party lifestyle, experimenting again, and inadvertently ending up kind of addicted to it. I think it would be quite interesting to read a GB story dealing with drug use. There’s a story floating around somewhere that I’ve read where Peter suspects that Egon was experimenting with drugs, although there was an entirely innocent explanation for it in the end, but I think that’s the only drug-use story I’ve read so far in the Ghostbusters universe.

And some fan fics have hinted that Janine had a bit of a past, stuff that she feared would drive Egon away if he knew about it. The problem is, too much "real world" stuff takes the fantasy, suspension-of-disbelief out of it for me. Yes, the fics see them as real people, living in a real world, but I'm not sure if I like the idea of a Janine that would do drugs. I read one really good fiafic where a guy who hated the GBs got Peter forcibly hooked on heroin, and the others helped him through it. It was very well done, but seems to belong to an Apocrypha-type setting. Let's just say Janine was so mentally messed up because she'd lost not just her career (her job with the guys), but the man she loved, of course not knowing she'd eventually have them both back, and then some.

Well, I couldn’t imagine Janine purposefully doing drugs just for the sake of it, but I could see it happening inadvertently, and getting caught up with that sort of partying lifestyle if she was familiar with it when she was younger, especially if she was feeling depressed. She doesn’t have to hit rock bottom, and the story doesn’t have to be heavy on the angst. Just enough for her to realise herself that she’s heading in the wrong direction, or for someone (read: Egon) to point it out to her, for her to stop.

I could deal with that. As long as it wasn't a long-term thing with her. I just don't see Janine Melnitz as that kind of person. She might be a bit messed up at times, but she's basically got her head together. It's only when Egon enters the picture that things get crazy.
