I feel like I'm way behind on topics. Here is my list of worst eps. 5. Noone Comes To Lupusville 4. Masquerade 3. Short Stuff 2. Attack of the B-Movie Monsters 1. Adventures in Slime and Space The reasons for my choices are basically that I didn't like the story lines. They were either too silly or didn't make any sense. When I was taping eps off Fox Family, I actually will admit to erasing Adventures in Slime and Space, because it was annoying. So there is my list, hack away at it. ghostdiva

I can sort-of understand your reasons for having problems with some of those eps (but not NoCTL...that's a classic! ) but I don't see how they're the worst...especially compared with some post-Season 3 episodes which were poorly/childishly written as well as having bad storylines to begin with. Still, kudos for coming out publicly with that list - just goes to show how us Ghostheads aren't afraid to display our opinions. We say what we like and we like what we say!

I already named my favourite EGB episodes in the (guess what) Favourite Episodes thread. That was hard. This, on the other hand, was easy. So easy I couldn’t wait any longer to post my thoughts. Not five this time. Only four: my top four sucky EGB episodes, from four (least sucky) to one (suckiest). 4. “Witchy Woman”A disappointing end to the series. They ( almost certainly) didn’t know it was going to be the last episode ever, but so what? They still should have put in the effort. It could have been done so much better - but instead Eduardo is a blundering and incompetent letch, Kylie doesn’t so much as bat an eyelid, Garrett doesn’t have a lot to say and I can’t remember one single thing Roland does. 3. “Glutton for Punishment”There are one or two mildly amusing moments, but nowhere near enough to stop this episode from severely grating on me. It looks suspiciously as though the planning process started along the lines of, Wouldn’t it be funny if Silmer was zooming around the firehouse eating absolutely everything? Consequently both plot and character are sacrificed for some vague attempt at visual comedy that just doesn’t hit the mark. 2. “Back in the Saddle, Part 2”Not as bad as “Back in the Saddle, Part 1”. The paranormal threat is considerably more interesting in this episode. There are a few Ed/Ky moments, one of which Peter creeps in on, which I thought was a nice touch. But other than that… blargh. Janine wandering around in an apron for the whole episode, planning the Thanksgiving dinner, just doesn’t work. And there is clearly a line missing. At the end of the episode, Eduardo rescues Kylie from getting eaten by the giant monster with tentacles, and she says, “I owe you one again.” Earlier in the episode, she saves him from sinking to the bottom of the ocean and drowning, and there follows: Eduardo: Thanks. Kylie: Yeah, well, now we’re even. These lines imply that Kylie has said, following the first rescue of the episode immediately prior to the potential drowning incident (before it gets old), “I owe you one.” But she doesn’t say it. She doesn’t get the chance - as soon as she’s away from the grabby tentacle thing (he rescues her twice from exactly the same situation - how mind-numbingly dull) they’re all in the sea and they’ve got a whole new set of worries. (A lot of people might not notice the absent line, but it bothers me every time.) 1. “Back in the Saddle, Part 1”Some of these reasons also apply to Part 2, not least that the eight Ghostbusters together is too many - four is the absolute maximum that works, and then at a stretch, which is why both teams used to split up so often in their respective series. Eight Ghostbusters all together leaves no room for good dialogue or characterisation - it’s more a case of, This needs to be said - which character hasn’t spoken in a while? Right, let’s give the line to Winston etc. And who suffers from the lack of available screen time? Of course, it is the Extremes - and a lot of what the Reals do and say in the meantime irritates the hell out of me. Example? A lame joke about the Osmonds on the Brooklyn Bridge - the heavy metal supports of which, I might add, come crashing down on the backs of Winston, Ray and Egon and don’t even seem to cause them any pain, never mind damage. Besides all of this, the demons are boring and unimaginative - just an excuse for the two teams to go out together and shoot some pretty proton fire.

Lol...you are not afraid to play with fire there, are you? Most fans consider those the best episodes of EGB, but then again that's mostly because it has the originals in it. I'll agree they weren't perfect, though. Aside from the usual complaints (ie "They looked too old" "Why the f*** was Ray wearing one of Egon's flight suits?") I gotta admit there were some characterization issues. Venkman I could see being so condescending and snotty to the younger crew; Winston and especially Ray that doesn't work so well. And there is some disjoint between the end of part 1 and the beginning of part 2. The end of part 1 makes it look like the big nasty threat is about to show up right now, then the next episode begins with Venkman and Garrett lazily boating around. Once again, I give you points for flying in the face of the "common wisdom" to call this the worst story in the series

I don't ask anyone to agree with my opinions, and I'll never understand people who do. What happened to mutual respect? One of the things I like about this board is that not a lot of flaming goes on here - I thought I'd probably be safe enough saying what I thought, and anyone who disagreed would do so respectfully. I notice no one else has ventured to post their bottom 3-5 EGB episodes yet. How curious, with so many people thinking it inferior to RGB - and this thread was more popular than the Best Episodes thread when it was about RGB. Strange.

I dunno...you see, truth to tell, I didn't hate any EGB episode nearly as much as I hated crap like "Ransom of Greenspud" or "The Magnificent Five" Compared to sh*t like that, every episode of EGB was a work of genius.

C'est vrai. I do agree with some of the points made about Back in the Saddle, but there isn't any particular episode that I personally have a real problem with. It's the more general and much-discussed issues surrounding EGB that don't sit so well with me.
