Okay Fritz, I am over analyzing things…again, and I just want to pick your brain, and thereby Egon's, about something I noticed. Here are two parts from two different stories and then my question.
Zodiac Imperative part 2 “She drank in the warmth of the moment...the sense of peace...contentment of a sort she couldn't remember feeling before...ever... She listened to the steady beat of his heart, and it was beautiful. Against her cheek was his only lightly haired chest...even his smell, tinged with sweat from the exertions of the last few hours, was beautiful... She wanted to take that moment...that whole night...trap it in a bottle...and treasure it forever. No. It wasn't any of that. It was that this was right in a way no other relationship she'd ever had was. “ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Forever “He drank in the warmth of the moment...the sense of peace...contentment of a sort he couldn't remember feeling...ever... He felt the steady beat of her heart, and it was beautiful. Her cheek was resting against his neck, the soft roundness of her bosom pressed up against his lightly haired chest...a whiff of the perfume she'd worn the day before still lingered in the air, mixed with more natural scents...that seemed even more beautiful to him. “
Okay so here we have thoughts from two separate intimate moments between Egon and Janine; I know that this demonstrates not only their love of each other but their ability to almost telepathically share thoughts and feelings. So my question is why was it that Egon didn’t have that feeling before, (when Janine did) was there something about being married to her that brought those feelings out? Was it something about his emotional state at the time, Does it mean that he finally appreciates his time with her, is this some brilliant easter egg of a plot devise that I am just now finding, am I reading too much into this…lol?
Just curious. ghostdiva

I never said he didn't...but remember, in Zodiac Imperative the scene was from her point of view, Forever it was from his. Obviously, the similarity in the scenes was totally intentional. And yeah, there probably was a higher level of contentment on his part. Being married to her was part of it--hey, there are still plenty of people in the world who consider that an important consideration--but more because of the long separation and believing he'd lost her forever. That makes what happens here all the more satisfying.

I thought about this after I posted the question. So of course that makes total sense.
And so does this. I was actually leaning toward the "He can finally enjoy himself because he doesn't have to worry about loosing her" train of thought too.
Thanks Fritz ghostdiva
