Overall, good story; I can't wait to envision what LT becomes. I wasn't clear on exactly how PV found out & what he exactly discovered. (I should go back & read that wedding story again. Shame on my laziness) Maybe it's me...but still a good job.

Well, okay, the breakdown works like this: The Ghostbusters broke up in late 1991; Janine had been in an accident that affected her memories of the previous year and a half, clouding her recollection of "Janine You've Changed" and sort of "resetting" her when she was still carrying on with Louis As Dreams FadeDecember 1991. Winston marries Kaila McMillan. Janine attends the wedding with Louis--she swears Winston to not tell anyone about it (Brian Reilly wrote this story, and it's on GBOmnibus) In 1992, Venkman and Dana get married. Janine is already back together with Louis, but swears Louis, Ray, and Winston to secrecy on the matter. She's convinced Venkman would go mental--and he probably would've. For Worse Or for BetterShe marries Louis in 1993, but is quickly convinced it's a mistake. In 1995, her memories of "Janine You've Changed" return and she moves out. Their divorce becomes final in 1997 ( Clinically Insane), right before she goes to see Egon again (EGB "Darkness at Noon") Egon and Janine get back together over the course of EGB ("The Crawler", "Back In The Saddle") and he finally pops the question after Ray, Winston, and Venkman return to action. But Venkman doesn't know about her disasterous marriage to Louis. Dreams RebornAround Christmas, Egon is hurt in an attack at the Opera House. A version of these events are seen in Vincent Belmont's story "Mito-Conundrum", available on GBN. Meanwhile, a newspaper article is written about the original Ghostbusters returning to action. It mentions Janine's marriage. Back In The Saddle?Excerpts of this article are being read by Louis in part 1 of "Hearts In Eclipse". Distracted by what happened to Egon, Venkman didn't read it--until now. Now didn't I say to some of the regulars months ago that that article was going to be important?

Yes, you did. We just weren't sure how.

OK, after re-reading... Louis really needs a happy ending. I too feel a bit sorry for Louis, which is strange because I’m normally inclined to want to strangle the guy. The image I have of Hulk-Louis is as funny as it is disturbing. Great stuff so far, Fritz. I love the way this all conflict is playing out, and I’m really looking forward to reading the next part.

OK, after re-reading... Louis really needs a happy ending. Wish I could write well enough to give it to him (and I'm not even that fond of him. I hope he gets his butt pasted for what he just did to Janine and Egon...). I got an idea: put him back w/Casey Kasam's wife from the 1st film. The blond w/large breasts he dances with...how quickly we forget.

Extreme Ghostbusters: Hearts In Eclipse, Part Three1998--Timeline Year Sixteen Louis, posessed by the power of the Lord of Gloom, drags Egon to the place it all began for him, as the Ghostbusters both old and new must confront the monsters born of Tully's tortured mind.

WOW! All I gotta say is, I NEVER saw that ending, and the one responsible for it, coming... All in all, one hell of a conclusion!

A great story and a great ending, only raising one question... which is what on earth is he planning?

Great ending to a great story. ;D I enjoyed reading every word of this. I gotta say that I was surprised with Louis' secret. I knew that Janine had used him as an Egon-substitute since she was temporarily denied the real thing, but to find out that he was using her as a Dana-substitute since he was permanently denied the real thing just caught me by surprise. Of course, despite what he tried to do in this fic, I still maintain that I feel sorry for the guy. He falls in love with this great woman who basically shuns him for a guy with the personality of a game show host. Then when he meets someone else and thinks that he might have a second chance at happiness, she leaves him for someone who's practically a Vulcan, after swearing that she was over the guy. That's really gotta hurt. I hope he does find someone to love someday who does love him back, rather than just trying to replace Dana again. Even nerds need lovin' too, ya know.

I noticed that, too. His apology to her (about being mad at her for not being Dana and mad at himself for not being Egon) was really heartfelt. And am I the only one who noticed that Janine's confrontation with Louis was highly reminiscient of Egon's confrontation with the Lotsabucks? She even took off the pack like he did.

Yeah that was a great story and I'm glad that things worked out well at the end. Nice Job!

I noticed that too when I read the story. When Janine started to talk to him, to try to reason with him, I thought: 'This is just like that scene out of Janine, You've Changed.' And notice how she felt a sense of Deja Vu during that? She obviously made the connection as well.

I think the sense of deja vu might also come from stuff Egon said to her in the proposal scene in "Dreams Reborn".
At least now we know how Egon, Janine, Louis, Peter and Dana got stuff worked out. At least, we hope they did...
And I loved the phrase "hellish drop". So that's why the Twins can't stand him...

Yeah, the scene's vibe being similar to "JYC" was intentional...I liked the idea of "in the earlier story, Egon saved Janine, in this one, Janine saves Egon" In some of the earliest outlines I did of this story (when it was still part of "Forever") Egon's the one saving her, but I thought "Nah. How many times has that happened? At least twice ("The Crawler" being the other one that came to mind) so let's have HER save HIM."
I'd sort of hinted at Dana being at the root of Louis's affections before in one part of "Chronicles of Gozer"...I'm actually a bit pleasantly surprised it seemed to shock people.
Glad you all approved.

I had a feeling it was at least partially about Dana when "Lana" showed up, and Peter noticed who she really looked like.
And it was DEFINITELY worth the wait. ;D
