Crazy things can happen when you mix schoolwork with Ghostbusters. Does anyone have any stories to share about this? I'll go first. I was condemed to do a sociology paper when, to my surprise, the topic happened to be about the affects of cartoons on children. (I think you know where I'm going with this ;D) So I was to watch an hours worth of cartoon and find three sociological themes that could have an affect on children. One of the examples was to explore any mention of boy/girl relations mentioned. So I chose the first two episodes of EGB in order to do this assignment, of course, and what was supposed to be a 4-5 sentence summary turned into a 3 PAGE RANT on Egon and Janine!!! BEST ASSIGNMENT EVER. And the really great thing was I got an A, the teacher said that he loved to see students take such initiative in their school work. If he only knew. So anyone here understand where I'm coming from? ghostdiva

I get you, school/college or urniversity work which has been affected by our fandom for the franchise. And I've had that happen, last year I had to hand in a paper on web animation, exploring the common themes and the variation in quality, from great to quite poor (I found both in one of those group done animations, this one being for the Matrix), and one of the cartoons I included was the Ghostbusters: The Animated Series by the guys at Tajiri studios.

Actually I just thought of another instance where I used ghostbusters in school, it was... now get this... when I was in 2nd grade!! It may actually count as my first fanfic. Interesting, No? I had to write and illustrate a short story and it was called "Ghostbusters and the Vampire ghosts". I got in trouble for it though because I was supposed to be making up characters not using "real" ones. lol, I was so upset that my teacher didn't like it. Maybe that is why it has taken so long for me to write fic again, I was tramatized. ghostdiva

I was planning on borrowing some GB-related things for this short story I have to write for English, but with all the stupid regulations I don't know if I'll get it included at all. I might just get a reference in if I work it right.

I got in trouble for it though because I was supposed to be making up characters not using "real" ones. Incredible. You were the kid in your class that did that? There's always at least one! You explain it to them so clearly: write a story that YOU HAVE MADE UP with characters that YOU HAVE MADE UP. Ok? Do you understand? Sure? All right then - ask if you need help spelling any words. The idea is to teach them to be original and creative, but a couple of years ago a kid re-wrote "The Railway Children" (very much compressed), and cartoons often appear as well. Ok, so they're just kids, and so was Ghostdiva, but you have no idea how annoying it is!
