Ghostbusters: Illogical Reaction1986--Timeline Year Four Or, you could also call it: "Robo Buster, the Missing Scene" This story was based off of something we actually did in our role playing games years and years ago: in the episode "Robo Buster", Janine dates a slimeball businessman named Paul Smart, which leads to a delightful display of jealousy from Egon. "Illogical Reaction" takes place not long after their first meeting with Smart, but before the unvieling of Robo Buster. I'm not going to spoil the surprises, other than to say Egon is not handling it very constructively...

Poor Egon... I'm glad some kind of good came out of this episode. It could have been done so much better if the writers had actually given it more thought. I can also see why you would never want a drunken Egon. He would still continue to use big words except they'd come out all slurred. Of course, drunk people are funny. (Only in comedies though...in dramas stuff it's just sad.) Anyway, yeah!!! ;D

I liked that. Egon being drunk was handled really well. Always nice to see someone buffing up those characterisations! I always thought 'Robo-Buster' was a really good episode, you've just gone and made it better, sort of. Now excuse me, lady and gentleman, I need to be getting on with writing my own fanfic. Yes, you heard that right.

This is another one of my favourites. I love Egon's totally uncharacteristic but completely understandable behaviour, and the slow realisation by both Egon and Janine about how he feels about her. This fic is wonderfully written, with some great interaction between Peter and Egon, and Peter and Janine. Great stuff! I wonder whether you've considered publishing any of these stories on fanfiction.net as well as here? It will probably give you a much wider audience, and a greater range of feedback. With fiction of this quality, I think as many people should be able to read your stories as possible. Now excuse me, lady and gentleman, I need to be getting on with writing my own fanfic. Yes, you heard that right. I look forward to reading it. I always love reading brand new fanfic from new writers.

I've considered it a time or two...though I also hear about some of the problems that site has via Kingpin and more recently EGB Fan. Still, I may have to "test the waters" there a little bit, like I did with GBN--and if it fails, I still have the Ectozone. Seconded, Joker. Let us know how it goes.

Fritz has already replied, but fanfiction.net does have its share of problems I think...plus they don't seem to screen the scripts for quality, resulting in a lot of crap getting put up...plus it pisses me off that they lump together RGB and EGB fanfic under one heading..of course that's probably to save bandwidth. I used to go there mainly to read Harry Potter fanfic, now I go to Schnoogle.com.
Thank you, Fritz and SS. I'll try not to let you down. I'm in the midst of watching some RGB eps so I can get the character's interaction and speech patterns down pat and everything, I want to do justice to them as well as writing a good story. The hard part is thinking of a plot that hasn't been done before in 140 episodes, but I think I've come up with one. Stay tuned.

I think it helps that there is a fairly small amount of GB fan-fiction on FF.net, so you can filter through the crap fairly easily, whereas with Buffy/Angel and Harry Potter fiction, finding a decent fic is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. It's true that FF.net has a lot of utter dross on it, and it isn't the best fanfic publisher out there, but it does have a huge readership, so it might be a good idea to just stick something on there and see what happens. You might get little or no response, but then again you might get a whole new bunch of fans.

This is still one of my favorites...the mental images I get of Egon drunk in the bar are hilarious, and Peter's confrontation with Janine was right on character.

Egon drunk, slurring his speech, getting mad, standing up and his glasses falling off without even noticing, talking to Peter but not being able to focus on him and then throwing up on Winston. Very funny. Also a little disturbing and of course sad. That boy sure had his problems!

It is indeed a really nice addition for the episode! I wished it actually was in the episode, but sadly it's not a good thing to show little children!
Remember too muc h alcohol just makes you have a headache and go puking for a crazy amount of money. You get the same result for free if you bang your head against the wall and put a finger in your throat ;D .
