My memory is appalling. This got me thinking, Hmm... I must have an anniversary like this as well - I wonder when it is. So I went to GBN, found my profile (it was easy once I was in the EGB fanfiction page), looked at the date I registered, thought, Oh, that's interesting, came back here and totally forgot said date. So I just had another look. November 17th 2002, apparently. Funny thing is, I always thought I registered after Fritz - "Veedramon" always seemed so at home, and knowledgable about, like everything - I was just a new writer thinking, Argh! Everyone hates EGB here! I hope they don't totally trash my stuff...
You, Fritz, were one of the people who most made me feel at home there. You were technically the second friend I made there. Iain and I started communicating very soon after I joined - I think he looked at my profile and thought, Oh, brilliant, another British person! At least that was the impression I got. ;D Anyway he encouraged me to keep writing fanfiction, and so did many others, Fritz included.
I was extremely touched one day by a review Fritz gave to the prologue of an epic EGB fic I wrote called "After Graduation" (not timeline, just to get that out of the way). It was one of my earlier attempts, and the first time I tried messing with the status quo. What I came up with I pretty much disregarded when the timeline started happening, but anyway... I'm gonna go find the review.

Ok, here it is. I think technically I'm breaking copyright and Fritz could legitimately sue me for a couple of quid, but... well, here's hoping he doesn't. The review that nearly brought tears to my eyes:
Yes, I admit, it did nearly bring tears to my eyes. That's not usually easy to do, but note I said "nearly" - besides which I was not quite 18, I was a relatively new writer and I was nervous. Since then I've just got cocky, but anyway... I just thought, Oh my God! What a nice guy! - and I went straight to Fritz's (then Veedramon's) profile and sent him a pathetic e-mail that pretty much said "Thank you thank you thank you you're so sweet I love you." And history was made...
Since then Fritz has been hugely helpful and supportive in everything I've written. I hope I've been able to return the favour on occasion. The collaborations we have (one with Ben, of course) are very special to me - I hope one day soon we'll do another. And one day, Fritz, you should totally come to England and meet us.
Ok, I'm done.

Wonderful! The XGB's are much maligned in this net, but don't let that discourage you--you obviously love these characters and put a lot of thought into it. It shows. Can't wait for the main story!
