On The XGB what was your thoughts to this episode when after Janine tries to get Egon to notice her when she accpets a date with Cohila who turns out to be a bug demon and wanted to use her as the queen of the bug kingdom? I thought it was great in my opinion and Janine kissing Egon was priceless! ;D

I admit the only real knock I could make on it was that fact that, like all of EGB, it basically couldn't have taken place if they remembered the legendary "Janine, You've Changed" episode. And thus it ended up treading on some of the same ground as that earlier story, and just not quite as well. (That's not to say there was no way around it--Kingpin's fan fic As Dreams Fade provided an elegant solution in the form of Janine's memory loss. It helped back up Egon's renewed sense of confusion in EGB, not knowing how much she'd remembered. I touch on this myself in one of the flashbacks in Forever )

Yes, That's true and I think they had contradicted that part because they should've know that Egon and Janine at the end of Janine, You've Changed. It's good think I read As Dream Fade and Forever.

Because I don't want to gain a reputation for being negative, let me start by stressing that I really do like this episode. I watched it on a Sunday morning in a Welsh hotel, having spent the Saturday at my cousin's horrendous wedding in Cardiff Castle - and to this day, I still find it very funny. Egon's dialogue in the climactic moments is hilarious.
But I have to say, I'm surprised E/J shippers think it was well handled (given that it was done at all after the writers apparently forgot all about "Janine, You've Changed" etc. - which, incidentally, I watched on Youtube earlier this year, and have kept very quiet about because I kinda hated it). I don't know if anyone noticed, but Egon doesn't have a clue.
Egon: You're going out on a date? Janine: Ya jealous? Egon: Don't you remember what I told you about restaurant kitchens?
And this dynamic doesn't improve much by the end of the episode. It takes Kylie to tell Egon to tell Janine he loves her, and then what happens? I'll tell you, as accurately as I can remember, but some of this I might just have to paraphrase.
Janine: I'll take that kiss now. Egon: Oh, well... that was just part of the plan. Janine: (kisses him) Think about that the next time I ask you out on a date. (leaves) Egon: (to Kylie in particular, and the others a bit too) Do you suppose Janine really could have a crush on me?
At this point there's clearly something brewing - he enjoyed the kiss, anyway - but doesn't that last line bother you? It doesn't matter to me - it's just a funny scene, as far as I concerned - but I can't help thinking it would bother me if I'd been an avid E/J shipper over the years.
Besides all that, Janine really does lose respectability in this episode, for me anyway. Using somebody else to make a guy jealous is a $#|++y thing to do, and not something I'd expect from a woman with any real degree of self-respect. I won't go so far as to say that it serves her right he turns out to be an evil bug monster, but hey, there's a lesson in there somewhere.

I agree those were the best lines in the episode.

This Episode somehow had a paradoxon. In the first movie Janine stated to read a lot. Then in this Episode the Bug-King uses the Name of Gregor Samsa, a name from Franz Kafka's novel "Die Verwandlung". In the Novel hardworking Gregor Samsa wakes up and finds out he has been transformed into a giant bug thus destroying his life. Well if Janine read very much, then she should at least have heard of this books, because it's often referred to or discussed. Som why does she not recognize the name?
Of course this is only so if she reads classic novels. If she reads more modern stuff... nevermind then.

I wouldn't call that a flaw. Janine doesn't specify what she reads a lot of - supposedly material that make people think she's "too intellectual", but that's always sounded to me like an exaggeration to impress Egon. But anyway, I'm an eclectic reader myself. I won't get into what I read, but I've read a lot of classics and I read quite a few literature reference books for my degree, and yet I've somehow managed to avoid encountering that particular novel. In fact, I've never even heard of it before now - but I do read a lot.

I think it's just a rehashing of JYC. Although I enjoyed it, it just didn't have the same feeling, it didn't leave me with the same sense of satisfaction that JYC gave me. It's as if the writers or whoever didn't even know about JYC or didn't give a damn. It does annoy me to a degree. But it is funny when J kissed E and his glasses fog up. I slow-mo it so I can see the various looks he gets and how her grip gets tighter and tighter. Sad I know, so sue me.
