I don't know just how many of us were already familiar with this story - but I wasn't, so I'm going into it completely fresh. Did Fritz at some time mention that this latest chapter was the point at which the original attempt on the story was abandoned? That seems very strange to me - why would anyone do that?
That's correct. Part 1 ("Poltergiest at the Pentagon" was it's original title) was intended to run in RGB Vol.2 #5. Part 2 ("Pandora's Box") was slated for RGB Vol.2 #6. But after Vol.2 #4 the regular book was cancelled. Now ran the two parts seperately in their 1992 and 1993 Annuals.
But after the 1993 Annual there was only one more Now Ghostbusters comic, a 3-D Slimer Special, and it did not include any continuation.
I suppose Now ran the material in the way they did in the hopes of getting at least a small return on it, but it wasn't economically feasible enought to, you know, actually finish the story unless the first two parts somehow ended up posting monster sales--which they didn't.
Fritz, you are amazing...have I told you that lately? This was CLASSIC RGB, I loved it, with some more mature overtones, which is always acceptable. Peter's coments were great, btw. And of course the bath scene was my fav out of the chapter, lol.
It was fun chapter to do--good grief, I got so "classic" I even had Slimer save their butts! Though in my stories, of course, that's actually a rare and unusual event, which is as it should be.
I wasn't sure about putting Janine back in the story at all. She wasn't in part 2, and for all I know Barry Peterson wasn't going to have her in the story. And of course she wasn't in every single episode of the show.
But I decided, for various reasons, I just *had* to have her meet Epimetheus, and the phone call turned into that sorta fanservicey scene that never would've made it onto Saturday morning in this country.
I laughed so hard when I read the bathtub scene. She didn't tell him the cucumbers fell off her eyes, so he probably thinks they fell from somewhere else. Ha! Ha! Ha! Poor Egon... Can't wait to see what happens when she shows up in part 4. Bet she really lays it on him then!
Janine and Egon are like two halves of the same soul separated aeons ago by fate and preordained to meet each other, no matter the odds, every lifetime throughout history... throughout all eternity. Taken from my fic "The Lady in Red."
