Know this Fritzy:
If it weren't for a guy like yourself, I probably wouldn't be writing today. You made fanfictions cool for someone who liked to write and liked Ghostbusters, and combining the two have been one of the best pleasures of my life.
I thank you and all those whose fics I've perused over the years for that.
And that's not ass-kissing or brown-nosing. That's the truth.

After a couple of days to cool off, I feel better now.
I wouldn't say things are completely honky-dorey, but it's all because of things that have been going on for a much longer time than this one flap.
Even before this particular incident, the sad state of the fan fic community had been on some of our minds--Sinister had written a email to some of us about it, and some pointed commentaries have been going back and forth about it. I've got some thoughts into that I'll be putting up soon on it's own thread--and probably on multiple forums.
I thank you all more than I can adequately convey. I just hope I can live up to those kind thoughts.

Welcome back! ;D It's so good to see that you haven't given up hope. The fanfiction community just wouldn't have been the same without you, and neither would have this place.

Welcome back, Fritz. I enjoyed 'Hearts In Eclipse'... it's given some interesting backstory to Louis, who is admittedly the least explored of the characters these days... and in addition, we're seeing the formation of the groundwork which will later by the Manhattan Devision with Vincent and Gabe becoming accustomed to the less 'spontanius' elements of a 'combustable' lifestyle. Great story Fritz... and you're right, in some ways Louis has earnt himself a break... and that small bit of dialogue Venkman could have had would have seemed a little out of place. The reversal of who saved whom was a nice touch, as now Janine isn't just a secretary who was outnumbered three to one. And yes, the puns... oh the puns! ;D (Why don't we have the evil smiley here? It'd be perfect.)

The reversal of who saved whom was a nice touch. Excellent, King - top marks for grammar. Expanding on what you said about Louis - I was right, wasn't I, the guy deserves a break. Whatever he's done in the past (of course that's a whole other debate), I think he's more than made up for it now. Have I already said that? It seems likely - if so, I apologise. I just, y'know, I feel sorry for Louis. I think I've said all about this story that I can. Except maybe, I like Eduardo's line to Kylie... I'll go find it... Wow, that took forever - I didn't even remember which part it was in. Anyway: "Oh yeah...that's the funny thing, isn't it? The way your skirt blows up for any guy with letters after his name." That's great - kinda what their whole pre-coming together mucking around was essentially all about. Of course, Fritz is a good writer for communicating deep understanding of the characters. I got another look at the first line while I was doing that. "He was nervous. No doubt about it." That's a really great beginning. I remember now (Part 1 came to my inbox a while ago, I can't possibly remember that far back) - it's an intriguing start. The opening paragraphs of a story should raise questions, as I am constantly told by my tutors (like I don't know that). There's a frustrated teacher in me...

Excellent, King - top marks for grammar. There's a frustrated teacher in me... Question, EGBFan; Are you indeed a teacher? That's my future profession, too. English is my major, but I've actually been giving some serious thought to being a Latin teacher. It's a less common major, and would insure my job security. If you're still studying, here's wishing you " bona fortuna."

Question, EGBFan; Are you indeed a teacher? Not just now. I'm an undergraduate student. I've thought about primary teaching, but the system is corrupt, at least around here, so I don't think I will. (Never mind how I know that - we'd be here all day.) I dunno what I'm gonna do... Ok, desperately trying to think of a way to link that to "Hearts in Eclipse" (short story, poem, song and article titles in inverted commas; novels, films, journals and newspapers in italics, children) - Fritz is so lenient about going off-topic, I'm afraid I take advantage. Well, moving on. Following this story, I told Fritz I think Louis needs a woman. I also said that's not to say that single people aren't complete people (don't get me started), but it seems to be what Louis needs to make him happy. Then I suggested maybe the tall woman he dances with at his party in GB1 (Louis, not Fritz). I'm gonna think about that one...

I always saw Louis getting hitched to some unassuming overlooked cute nerdy chick. If Ray's wife can be fan canon, so can Louis'. I think she should have an uncommon name, like Eloise, or perhaps Abigail. If we wanted to go the opposite way, we could have him get hitched to some sexy feminist lawyer....now THAT would be an odd pair. LOL

yes I have to agree with that. I wonder whos Ray's wife anyway? And I do think Louis needs a girl on his own so he wouldn't be left out.

Aw Hell, let's just get him hitched with Irma from Channel 6 News, there's a crazy couple in the works. Seriously though...

Aw Hell, let's just get him hitched with Irma from Channel 6 News, there's a crazy couple in the works. Seriously though... Dude, don't tempt me. Really, if I could remember more than just the basics of the old cartoon, I would so write a fic where that happened. After all, she's friends with a chick who hangs out with mutant turtles that live in a sewer. Being involved with someone who works for guys that make it their job to catch ghosts wouldn't be much of a stretch for her.

Well, we have borrowed a few characters from the 80's TMNT before...uptight Channel Six reporter Vernon Fenwick does appear in "Chronicles of Gozer". Venkman mentions "That April chick" from the same channel in "Future Shocks" But putting in the Turtles themselves and too much of thier mythology would probably be detrimental to the continuity as a whole. Tread carefully around this area. Anyway, I'd meant to put this up about a week ago, but got....er, sidetracked. A mock cover for this story: www.deviantart.com/deviation/27462332/
