Well, why not? It's the name I use on Digital Dive, on DigimonCCG, even on some other anime boards. Heck, it was the name I signed up to my very first board (a Ghostbusters board, actually) under.

Yeah, you probably notice a trend now...Gold was easy to do by recoloring, Aero I admit I just got lazy and retouched the Veedramon picture. I should probably draw a completely new one one of these days.

I didn't have the best reference when I did this one, so the feet are wrong and the pose looks a little off to me now, but ah well...

Digimon Quest
These were the star characters of a fan fic I started working on but got derailed by the service hosting the site closing up. I'm going to see about restarting it soon, but I have some other ideas I want to put out first, including an Adventure 01/02 story.
(And of course one of the DigiDestined has a Veemon, and you have probably figured out he evolves differently from Davis's...)

I did this one as a joke, but I figure it might amuse some people.

Genjimon
I enetered this one in the DigiPort's "Design-A-Knight" contest. This posting is bigger, and I experimented with adding some flamey stuff around his sword.

And don't forget the Ectozone gallery: Chibomon, DemiVeemon, Veemon, and...(something not related to the Veedramon family) a fanmade Digimon or two.

It actually wouldn't surprise me that much if there really was a Pimpmon. Well... maybe he'd have a slightly less obvious name. It made me laugh, anyway.

I enjoyed the Genjimon picture too - there's something very cool about a flaming sword.

SkullMeramon

SkullMeramon (known as DeathMeramon in Japan) is one of my favorite Digimon, definitely one of my favorites that doesn't have a "Vee-" in his name. An Ultimate/Perfect level Digimon, he was seen in the cartoon during season 1 as a minion of Myotismon, and gets trashed by Metal Greymon, Birdramon, and Togemon at Tokyo Tower.

I just think he's cool because he looks like a cross between Jason Vorhees from Friday the 13th and Gene Simmons of KISS. And maybe a little of DC's Lobo mixed in.

He is cool indeed. Why not call him DeathMeramon in the western version? That's naff.

The usual: American TV executives and toy manufacturers are chicken-hearted cowards. Words like "Death" and "Holy" are always excised from names. There were a couple of Digimon that are still referred to as "Holy Dragons" but other than that those words are gone. HolyAngemon=MagnaAngemon, Holydramon=Magnadramon (honestly, I like the changed names better in those cases), DeathMeramon=SkullMeramon (which is just as good a name, I think, so I use the one more American fans would be familiar with).

There was one Digimon called Deathmon who got his name changed to Ghoulmon. And a bunch originally know as the "Death-X" Digimon (ie Death-X Dorugamon) who got that changed to "Dex" (ie DexDorugamon).

And it's not just Digimon, of course. According to an article on Wikipedia (yeah, it's Wikipedia, but it does have an aura of "truthiness" at the very least about it) Bandai lost a lot of money back when Gundam Wing was popular because one Gundam was called "Deathscythe Hell" and the f**ktards at Wal-mart sent back every action figure with that name on it (they later appeared retitled, for toy purposes, "Deathscythe H.") So when G Gundam came out, a bunch of renaming similar to the Digimon situation came about: God Gundam=Burning Gundam, Devil Gundam=Dark Gundam, Death Army=Dark Army, ect.

Boltmon

Boltmon is SkullMeramon's Mega/Ultimate level form; created for the Nightmare Soldiers virtual pets, which employed a theme of movie monsters such as ghosts (Bakemon, Phantomon), vampires (Myotismon), and werewolves (WereGarurumon), Boltmon is inspired by the classic Frankenstein Monster. He's another rather hardcore, badass-looking dude.

Man, I HAVE been away for a while.

A discussion starts about the Meramon line and I don't weigh in on it for nearly two months?

I am also a fan of the Meramon line (Meramon, DeathMeramon, and Boltmon). If anything, I'd dare say moreso than Fritz.

In fact, in Fritz's Quest fanfic, the kid with the Candlemon is my idea. Anyone who has any familiarity with Digimon's Nightmare Soldiers group (or just decent observational skills and access to a picture of it) could tell you that Candlemon is a pre-digivolution of Meramon, who is itself a precursor to DeathMeramon, then Boltmon. As a meaningless trivia note: in all the (literally) years of tinkering with the idea that we've done, Candlemon is the only digimon in that group that we haven't ever changed our minds on concerning how we plan to have him digivolve.
